    Hi angelo69jes –
A bodkin is a great all purpose utility tool. It doesn’t have one specific function, per se, you will find yourself using it for a variety of different applications. For instance, you will find yourself using it to pick out dubbing on? a nymph pattern to create the illusion of legs, you will use it to help separate quill barbs to create a properly sized wing case, and so on. Believe me, you will be happy you have one of these in your tool kit as you continue to tie flies.
