This is about as close as a fly can get to looking like a vibrax, which is good, because vibraxes work better. I’m an asshole, just so you know.

Is there any chance that you could tie us a pike fly. Also is there a certain kind of feather needed to create a hackle on i have tried doing hackle’s with wood pigeon and magpie feathers and both did not work.I would be greatful if you could tell me what kind of feathers are best for creating a hackled fly.

  16. marieh305 says:

This is a true art in it’s self i have just mastered fly casting, well the fly land on the water now and not in the trees.I have been getting grayling and wild brown trout so i will 100{3295056c9ca42e03df4d94feaac0847f4dfe1a41b9bfdb90d7a726607f8c5ffa} be tieing some of these flys.I was wanting to ask if there is a immatation for a Pedagree chum mixer for carp fishing one that will stay a float for some time.I have been useing cork ball’s to some sucess but i feel something a little lighter would give better presentation.

my dad took me fishing at walton hall today and i used this fly

  18. bottomvibe says:

I just did this one and I use my fingers to finish, to me it’s easier.

  19. bbt95762 says:

love your videos – thanks. What sort of varnish do you use? I’ve seen people using nail polish (what I’m using) super glue, head cement,…. getting confused on where/when to use each type of finisher.

  20. TheTeenageCaveMan says:

you can whip finish with your fingers to, i find it easier than with the whip finisher…

  21. james6forster says:

purchase a whip finish tool, as you will find it soo much easier than using your fingers

  22. james6forster says:

for all those begginers who want to know how to finish off the fly you will first need to purchase a tool called the “Whip
finnish, this saves you using your fingers and makes it alot easier. Good Luck

  23. XXXDarkdizXXX says:

im 10 and i can fly wooly bugger all the nymphs and mayflys and streamers ^_^

  24. bighitter42 says:

Go to your local flyshop or Bass Pro Shops and see if they’re doing a fly tying class. Most places do them for free, hoping that you’ll get hooked and buy your materials there.

Learn a simple fly like a wooly bugger and practice it until they look like you could sell it in a shop. Then start expanding and practicing. It’s not nearly as difficult as most people assume, the hardest part for me was learning how much pressure to apply on the thread without breaking it.

    Good luck!

  25. snowboarddude117 says:

start out with nymphs and streamers…they are easy i didnt like tying drys at first cause they looking like poo then i got discouraged and almost didnt want to tie..if you do want to start out with drys do mabe grifiths gnats cause they are easy

  26. frybean says:

  28. komoshun28 says:

Wow! Flashy, lots of movement, fast and easy to tie…you sold me. Silvers are just starting here in the Puget Sound area. Gonna have to try some of your “crack”.

  29. livermore11 says:

@robinjob000 Just tie some up man! Easy. Good fishin!

  30. robinjob000 says:

I want to buy one from you, that is a promising Lure!!

  31. Fishingstyle101 says:

Very cool! If this is a fly that rides on the bottom with the hook up then it should have a down turned eye or no turn.

  32. livermore11 says:

I guess so. And thanks dude.

  33. TripleDubFishing says:

Good on you. Most people apologize and conform. Anyways, nice tying, Looks like it would catch its fair share. Good video, 5 stars.

  34. livermore11 says:

Right-on. Yeah, in southeast AK. Should I catch a steelhead today or a king salmon? What a tuffie 😉

  35. livermore11 says:

Hey buddy thanks alot for coming back a year later to tell me that AGAIN. In case you didn’t get this before, I don’t give a fuck about how it is ‘supposed’ to be. It’s just a fly dude. it rides hook gap down anyway. I don’t fish it, and this video was not about a fly, but having fun with my camera. Get over it dude! And go fuck youself 😉 Whew.

  36. EFISHANT says:

You don’t use a salmon hook that way – unless you are an idiot. The hook has an up- word eye and a specific bend – thus it is meant to ride hook down!

    What a bunch of hillbillies!

  37. MClown69 says:

he tied the barbells like that so its hook point up tard

  38. MClown69 says:

nice and shiny! wonder if great lakes steelies would like it!

  39. jamesmcgillivary says:

Great video and nice editing, I’ll be fishing this pattern out of the queen charlotte islands this summer. Your in alaska I’m guessing eh!

  40. Deke80s says:

    nice xmas decoration 😉

    no really nice tying

  41. redshaftedflicker says:

I’m loving the striper right now, living in southern Cal for the time being. I’m float tubing it on Silverwood Lake. Trout plants are starting up so the hawgs will be coming out from the deep.

  42. livermore11 says:

God I miss catching stripers. King salmon have nothing, and I mean nothing, on Morone saxatilis. Fuck king salmon. Do it up.

  43. redshaftedflicker says:

A green or a pearl body tied the same way looks like it would kill stripers. I like the simple tie due to my skill level and for more time on the water. I might even experiment with a spinner blade on the front of this one.

  44. ManVsWildfan says:

    prison sex 🙂

  45. livermore11 says:

it was fun to make. thanks.

  46. fishingfury says:

great job on editing that vid!

  47. livermore11 says:

That my friend is a $24 vice. I have no idea what kind. A no-name prob. It was a big step up from my original, $12 vice. Which worked fine. BassPro is wicked slow shipping to Alaska, I hear you. Cabelas is fast as shit.

  48. livermore11 says:

    it’s Prison Sex. thanks.

  49. ManVsWildfan says:

that’s a basspro supreme rotary vise right? I have the same one……it took them over a month to deliver it to me but it was worth it

  50. redandwhite12 says:
