Fly Tying iTV – The Gray White – FFOTW.com

www.ffotw.com – this fly pattern is a streamer that is fished right below the surface. It imitates a bait fish (shad) and was tied originally to catch carp, but is a useful pattern for any freshwater or saltwater fish feeding on bait and fry. This is an amazing fly! I? have had great success using this fly in the saltwater backcountry of Everglades National Park for redfish, snook, baby tarpon, and black drum. I tie it with no weighted bead, no eyes, and I add a double weed guard to keep it out of the weeds and mangroves. Being weightless makes it rides high in the water column, making it great for the shallow water I fish. But perhaps the best thing about this fly is how easy it is to tie.
