1st footage from our new underwater camera, as hooked tuna swims under boat! Cone Bay WA June 2011 Saltwater Fly fishing from a boat
Video Rating: 5 / 5
Field & Stream tests out fly reels with a motorcycle. Trout swim at a max speed of 9 mph. The motorcycle takes line at 10 mph for a distance of 50 yards to test the drag’s start up and overall smoothness. The line is then timed during the retrieve. Reels are broken down and examined afterwards to check for problems.
@charbcbc too true Mate! ? Living the dream!
looking forward to? see how it turns out.
Cheers. I’ve just got myself a little underwater camera so hopefully I’ll get some good? shots too on an upcoming trip. Thanks.
Thanks, had great fun? with the fishing and the movie making. Very happy with this movie, just getting the hang of editing etc so plenty more to come now that i know what i’m doing.
Grate Video love? the fly fishing action very nice editing outstanding Job!
1) East Kimberley, leave from Derby
2) JVC movie camera, unbranded cheap internet buy underwater camera,? very happy with it!!
Nice video. Two questions for you…1) Where in WA is Cone Bay? 2) What cameras? did you use?
um idiot? There is not 1 piece of plastic on an Orvis Vortex reel, and? the drag plate area is essentially the whole spool in size. You really should get your facts straight before you go preaching on the internet.
Orvis makes 2nd rate salt water reels. Not bad, but not that good either. The old Orvis battenkills? and CFOs were decent for trout and stuff, but if youre going for a saltwater reel, get a Billy Pate, Nautilus, Hatch, Tibor or other specialty reel and not a box chain Orvis reel thats half plastic with a tiny drag plate. You can find old ones of the aforementioned brands on Ebay or whatever if you want to save money and theyll last you long enough to give your kids.
Under? most circumstances it would work fine but you show what could happen
Good job
Useless test! The purpose of drag is to? stop the fish, not a bike. Stupid idea to test reels that way!
LOL you’ve never dunked your reel? in the water while wading?
LOL the drag was barely even cranked look how easily he peeled the line off with his finger tips after saying that. LOL and it? still smokes HAHA.
LMAO you Orvis fans.?
worthless test!!!? does not prove a thing..
