Amazing , action filled video of Fly Fishing for Atlantic Salmon in Russian far north. Varzina is one of 3 famous northern rivers of Kola peninsula. One of these places which should be visited by serious salmon angler… Enjoy!

Nice salmon. Catch and release is cool but for some reasons I never see it on these Alten River videos. I would hate to see this magnificent river suffer dwindling stocks and see the average size of the? fish drop. This has happened to some canadien rivers that have been managed well like the Matapedia river. Well enough said … Nice fish
@sambrew1 It’s not a stupid question if you are not into movies or his acting skills have not impressed you as they have me. Max Von? Sydow is a Swedish born actor who has played lead roles in a number of films for the last 60 years. He first came to prominence in Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal – see Max Von Sydow on Wikapedia. I suspect you would recognise the face if you saw him, even if you didn’t the name.
@pauldh62 who exacly is max von? sydow?sorry if i’ts a realy stupid quition.
@sambrew1 The pleasures all mine, I assure you, but the most crucial question here remains unanswered – who’s that guy who? looks like Max Von Sydow? Is it Max Von Sydow?
@pauldh62 ,its my p[leasure to inform dumb people opf? the truth i’m glad you apretiate it
@sambrew1 Burning witches, bear baiting etc., was part of my nation’s culture, but I’m not sure that that’s a sustainable argument. I did not say I was? a 100 per cent catch and release and suggest you read my comments carefully. I’m curious that my reply to the criticisms you so much abhor have incurred your wrath more than redbutbearhair, but carry on, thank you for feeling sorry for me and enlightening me on where I should complain.
@pauldh62 its? part of norwiegan culture and if you are 100 percent catch and realese i feel sorry for you although our stocks are important i am sure evryone dose or would relish in keeping one and eating it and if you realy are conserned abot stocks then this is definetly not the place to complain(try the russain traulers that scoop up thousands of salmon in one haul
well done, great fish, nice? ppl
cheers !
I have seen the full video and seen the blood. Should we all be spared the unpleasant aspects? of nature? Would not a more sanitised video make it harder for you to get across the point you have expressed? I would have preferred fish release, but am assured this is sustainable.
Please watch the full video? and you will see the blood spurting out. I mean does the person who posted this think we need to see the killing of the salmon? I believe the video would be have been nice if you took out the blood and killing of the salmon. Some great breading fish killed in this one.
Thank you for your comment which I received. I have indeed stated my? concern over the keeping of Salmon and have been assured that 80 per cent of fish taken are released. Sometimes fish will not survive the fight anyway. Show the blood? Many people are happy to eat fish without considering how it reached their plate, though I can see you are not one of them. I acknowledge it is sad to see a noble fish dispatched, but I venture to suggest we keep an open mind. At least the killing was swift.
So you call this sport. Trebble hook? Was it really necessary to show the blood? You are clearly meat? eaters. I am an avid salmon angler of 31 years and this is not what atlantic salmon fishing is about. You are not considered sports by any stretch of the imagination. I truely feel sorry for you. Keep on killing and see what happens. Sad very sad.
Well done gentlemen. Who’s that guy who looks like Max Von Sydow? Dead ringer as we Brits and Americans say. Five star stuff. Liked the tying of the fly – that is always helpful for the inept? like myself.
Learn how? to release fish you idiots!
Wow. ?
You should fish in? Midfjardara in Iceland, great river and packed with fish
you fight? those fish hard ,,,better for release .
nice fish? well done nicely handled aswell
