Saltwater Fly Fishing Downunder

Saltwater fly fishing can at times be just as demanding and technical as any sweet water trout senario. Sometimes it is barely controlled chaos. When the rod bends at shocking angles and line is shooting through the guides at light speed, does it get any better?

Good question – here is the list:
    Weipa (Far North Queensland)
    Hervey Bay (Qld Fraser Island)
    Northern Territory (Lefty)
Christmas Island (bonefish – though new bonefish fisheries are turning up in Oz)

    Yep – Australia!
We were going to put that in the title, but I met some people (US) who thought Australia was a part of New Zealand! Like calling the US a province of Canada! I guess now that Oprah Winfrey has been here, the rest of the world knows we are here. LOL
2011 will see more full length fly stories on our website – lots more.
    All the best,

Just hope we can keep on doing it – areas of coastline are being close to fishing at a rapid rate, and the first we know about it is a No Fishing sign! Governments have to stop listening to people who anthropromorphize fish (To endow with human qualities; To attribute human characteristics to something that is non-human) and fishermen need to lobby government – or we won’t be able to fish any more.

Thanks for the comment! Saltwater Fly can be like that sometimes – INTENSE! A great compliment to freshwater, which is intense in its own completely different way. We think any fish caught on fly is something special.
